We, that is Jean and David Cholerton, built Little Haven 50 years ago and have raised our two sons here. We are now officially retired grandparents to six  and about to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary this August!  How time flies.

Our home has seen goats, sheep & chickens. We have one dog Barney – a lovable, mad Brittany. For almost 20 years Little Haven was run as a highly recommended bed and breakfast (also serving evening meals) – our visitors came from as far as Australia. Today, 3 of our bedrooms have been converted into this one lovely apartment.

We are both keen environmentalists, gardeners, birdwatchers, and walkers. Jean is interested in art and local history and has enjoyed thirteen years as a professional guide for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (based at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage in Shottery). Jean is now in ` semi retirement` at home but would be delighted to help visitors with regard to our local history.

David, now retired from B.T., enjoys being in the great outdoors and has been developing our Nature Reserve on the old railway line (which is our private walk), he also loves Great Western Steam Engines – the reserve is named S.M.J. after the Stratford/Midland/Junction.

Walking around the property – you may walk anywhere, but forgive us if it looks a little ragged here and there – it’s good for the wildlife! The Rose garden looks at its best in May/June.
