The side gate leads to the rear garden of the main house where you are welcome to walk through to the private walk which was once the old S.M.J railway of the Edwardian era, consisting of 3.5 acres stretching ½ mile from East to West.( At the gate turn left ) This walk crosses a local right of way,( access via a style) and continues to a lovely picnic area situated on an embankment overlooking the surrounding countryside. For the Bird watchers, a pair of Buzzards have nested in an Ash Tree opposite and can be observed during the breeding season.
At the style you can take the right of way to the local pub. The Golden Cross which serves great food, and the local villages of Temple Grafton and Ardens Grafton.
